Atlanta’s Technology and Breast Cancer Community Turns Out for 11th Annual Agile on the Green

Leading technology executives and breast cancer advocates from across Atlanta attended the 11th annual Agile on the Green charity event hosted by Agile on October 9 at Topgolf Alpharetta. This year’s event was not only held at a new location making it more accessible for networking, but it was also the largest event in all the 11 years with over 100 attendees.

This year Agile on the Green raised $20,000 in net proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen – Greater Atlanta, with funds helping to provide affordable mammograms, clinical exams and cancer-related education throughout metro Atlanta. Agile CEO, Tricia Dempsey recognized Stories of Strength authors in her speech, focusing on those women who were diagnosed early and survived because of genetic testing and clinical trial drugs, as well as those who will lose their fight to breast cancer. “These women are brave and I am humbled and appreciative that they shared their stories in hopes of encouraging others facing the disease,” Dempsey remarked.

During this year’s event, radio and TV personality Ebony Steele presented Dempsey with the 2014 Steele Standing Award recognizing her grateful appreciation of Dempsey’s undeniable spirit and fight against breast cancer.

This year’s event consisted of a “For the Cure” Cocktail Reception, Topgolf tournament, raffle prizes, an Awards Reception and plenty of networking opportunities in-between. Sponsors included Jackson Healthcare, Carter Baldwin, Abacus Solutions, Advocate, Data Blue, Elavon, Jones Lang LaSalle, Manheim, MemberSuite, Oracle, Rainmaker, Satori Interactive, and TapSnap.

“Komen will be part of the cure one day and I am grateful to play a small part,” says Dempsey.

Agile on the Green was started by Dempsey following her own successful fight against stage III breast cancer in 2003. Over the years, Agile on the Green has raised over $240,000 for Susan G. Komen – Greater Atlanta.
