Atlanta Community Turns Out for 12th Annual Agile on the Green
Charity golf tournament raises $20,000 for Susan G. Komen – Greater Atlanta Affiliate
ATLANTA – Leading technology executives, breast cancer and other well-known community members from across Atlanta attended the 12th annual Agile on the Green charity event hosted by Agile on October 8 at Topgolf Alpharetta.
This year Agile on the Green raised $20,000 in net proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen – Greater Atlanta, with funds helping to provide affordable mammograms, clinical exams and cancer-related education throughout metro Atlanta. Agile President, Tricia Dempsey recognized Stories of Strength authors in her speech, focusing on those women who were diagnosed early and survived because of genetic testing, clinical trial drugs and trusting their intuition, as well as those who will lose their fight to breast cancer. “This year I personally knew five women who were diagnosed with breast cancer – until that number is zero, we will continue to help fund a cure through Agile on the Green,” Dempsey remarked.
This year’s event consisted of a “For the Cure” Luncheon, TopGolf tournament, raffle prizes, an Awards Reception and plenty of networking opportunities in-between. Sponsors included Agile’s new parent company General Employment Enterprises, Carter Baldwin, Cumberland Group, Advocate, Elavon, Jones Lang LaSalle, Satori Interactive, Georgia State University, IHG, Transcend Staffing, and Preferred Specialty Solutions.
“Komen will be part of the cure one day and I am grateful to play a small part,” says Dempsey.
Agile on the Green was started by Dempsey following her own successful fight against stage III breast cancer in 2003. Over the years, Agile on the Green has raised over $290,000 for Susan G. Komen – Greater Atlanta.
